Volbella in New York City with Dr. Shridharani

What is Volbella?

Developed by Allergan (makers of Botox, Juvederm, and Kybella), Juvederm Volbella is a new injectable filler for non-surgical lip augmentation. Its new hyaluronic acid (HA) formula results in less swelling and long-lasting results. Volbella is used to smooth lip lines, which develop with age. Having Volbella injected in New York City with Dr. Shridharani once the product is available in the US will leave your lips plumper and with less smooth fine lines around the lip area. Volbella has a slightly different cross-linking technology with a shorter hyaluronic acid chain so it flows more easily when it is injected. It’s also a softer and more cohesive filler, so you’ll get smoother results that last for a longer amount of time.

How can Volbella Injections enhance my lips?

Volbella was developed specifically for lips and lines around the mouth area. With age, hyaluronic acid is lost creating lines that we would rather not see. Small injections of Volbella can help to:

  • Smooth the fine, vertical lines, appearing around the lips (also known as “smoker’s lines”)
  • Treat oral commissures (where the corners of the mouth turn down)
  • Define the natural lip contour by accentuating the vermillion border (outline of the lips)
  • Treat marionette lines, which appear from the corners of the mouth and course down to the chin
  • Enhance the cupid’s bow (the dip in the middle of the upper lip leading to a “pouty”/sexy appearance)

How long will Volbella last?

Studies show that 98% of people who had Volbella injected into their lips reported that their lip appearance goals had been achieved and results lasted up to 12 months.

Does treatment hurt?

Juvederm Volbella with lidocaine is the latest advancement in the Juvederm range of facial fillers, developed specifically for your lips and mouth area. It is a smooth gel that will be injected by Dr. Shridharani, using an ultra-fine needle. Volbella has a mixed-in local anesthetic, which decreases the pain to a small bee sting and then no pain.

Why should I choose Volbella for lip enhancement?

What makes this filler unique is its patented Vycross technology, which through more efficient crosslinking produces greater lift capacity and longer lasting results. In fact, a company-led study found that over 90% of test patients reported natural looking lips with more than 80% of them still satisfied with their results after one year. Having such a high satisfactory rate after such a long period of time is something to smile about. Previous lip fillers typically last up to 6 months before your body breaks it up, leaving you with a deflated pout. Additionally, Volbella is a softer, smoother gel that allows for easier injection. The product is less hydrophilic (less likely to absorb water) resulting in reduced swelling and a more natural result. It has been specifically developed as a smooth gel to give a soft, natural feel. The gel fills in lip lines and wrinkles while the hyaluronic acid within attracts and retains moisture.

Does Dr. Shridharani have experience with Volbella?

Dr. Shridharani is an Advisory Board member for Allergan (makers of Botox, Juvederm, and Kybella). As a member of the Facial Aesthetics Advisory Board, Dr. Shridharani was given a “sneak peak” of Volbella several months ago and allowed to feel its consistency and ease of injection (not in patients). His expertise in dermal fillers affords him the opportunity to have the latest products early.

Volbella FAQ

Q: What is Vycross Technology?
Volbella incorporates Allergan’s trademarked Vycross technology. There are a lot of technicalities that go into Vycross products (Juvederm Voluma, Volbella, and on the horizon…Volift), but the gist is Vycross technology relates to the molecular structure and how the HA molecules are cross-linked. While most HA fillers are formulated with a 100% high-molecular- weight Hyaluronic Acid, the fillers in the Vycross Collection are all formulated with just 10% high-molecular- weight HA and 90% low- molecular-weight HA.
