InstaLift™ in New York City with Dr. Shridharani

What Is Silhouette Instalift™ in New York with Dr. Shridharani?

Silhouette InstaLift™ is a non-surgical, in-office procedure that uses completely dissolvable sutures to lift and reposition sagging skin of the face and neck to yield both immediate and long-term results. InstaLift™ uses micro-suspension technology (MST) to provide an immediate lifting effect to the cheeks, jowls, nasolabial folds, jawline, and neck. Over time, InstaLift™ treatment stimulates collagen production to improve skin quality, volume, and thickness. The Silhouette InstaLift™ is available with Dr. Sachin Shridharani at LUXURGERY in NYC to redrape the skin and restore facial structure.

How Does Instalift™ at Luxurgery with Dr. Shridharani in Manhattan Work?

InstaLift™ treatment involves skillful placement of dissolvable sutures beneath the skin to physically lift deeper layers of the midface and neck. These innovative sutures contain small, bi-directional cones that function to elevate the skin and reposition areas of concern in the cheeks, jowls, nasolabial folds, jawline, and/or neck. Typically, Dr. Shridharani will place 2-4 sutures on each side of the face to create the lifting effect. At LUXURGERY, each patient is given a comprehensive assessment and Dr. Shridharani tailors the InstaLift™ procedure to address each patient’s individual needs, degree of skin laxity, and aesthetic desires.

What Are the Benefits of an Instalift?

Clients enjoy Instalift because it is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that offers a number of great benefits. This includes the following and more:

  • Firming of sagging skin
  • Reduction in fine lines and wrinkles
  • Diminishing facial creases
  • Smoother, tighter skin
  • More youthful complexion overall

Instalift is able to provide many of the same aesthetic benefits that a traditional facelift can without the extensive surgical procedure. This gives patients a minimally invasive option that can help them achieve their cosmetic goals.

Who Is Not a Candidate for an Instalift?

Instalift is recommended for older individuals with moderate to severe facial sagging, wrinkles, or loss of volume under the skin. Younger patients with mild signs of aging are often able to resolve these age-related changes with products like neuromodulators or dermal fillers, which means they are not typically candidates for Instalift treatment. On the other end, clients with very severe or significant signs of aging may require a more extensive procedure, such as traditional facelift surgery.

To determine whether Instalift is right for you, a consultation with a cosmetic medicine provider is essential. We can assess your skin and evaluate any signs of aging to determine whether Instalift is the best course of treatment for you or not.

How Long After an Instalift Will I See Results?

Most patients are able to see the outcome of their Instalift procedure about three to six months after their treatment. This gives the skin enough time to settle and for any potential swelling or bruising to subside. In this amount of time, new collagen production can begin and start producing various anti-aging benefits, including tightening the skin and creating a more firm appearance overall.

What Should I Expect at My Instalift Consultation?

An important part of the Instalift process is your consultation appointment. All clients must have a consultation prior to receiving Instalift treatment. During this appointment, our cosmetic medicine professional will evaluate your skin and examine the signs of aging that you wish to address. We will also discuss any relevant medical information that may affect your skin or the ability to have this procedure. This is all to ensure that Instalift is the right fit for you.

If we find that you are not a good candidate for Instalift or that another procedure is a better match, you will be informed of this. Some clients may benefit from less extensive options, such as neuromodulator injectables or dermal fillers. Others may be in need of more extensive procedures, such as traditional facelift surgery. Your cosmetic provider will discuss any alternative options during your consultation.

Is an Instalift Procedure Covered by Insurance?

Your Instalift procedure will not be covered by insurance, as it is not considered to be a medically necessary procedure. Most insurance providers will not provide any coverage for treatments that are performed for cosmetic purposes. During your consultation appointment, you can find out more about payment options and receive an estimate of the cost of your Instalift treatment.

Can Dr. Shridharani Use Instalift™ to Lift My Neck?

Though the treatment is considered “off label,” Dr. Shridharani can carefully lift the neck. Dr. S has a lot of experience with the treatment and educated colleagues from around the globe on how to perform this procedure.

What Is MST and How Does It Work with Instalift™?

InstaLift™ uses an advanced micro-suspension technology (MST) to lift sagging skin on the treated areas and effectively reposition the tissue. There is an immediate anchorage in the tissue right below the skin to safely profile the face or neck with a very low risk of migration and extrusion.

What Are the Sutures Made Of?

InstaLift™ sutures are made of poly-glycolic acid (PGA) and poly-L-lactic acid (PLA). PGA and PLA are degradable sugar materials that are well-tolerated by the body and commonly used in skin care products and peels.

InstaLift™sutures dissolve within 4 to 6 months. While the sutures are dissolving, the body produces its own natural collagen to keep the face and neck nicely lifted.

What Makes Someone a Good Candidate for Instalift™ at Luxurgery?

The ideal InstaLift™candidate will have good skin elasticity and mild to moderate skin laxity. At LUXURGERY, the typical InstaLift™patient is concerned with:

  • Sagging in the mid-face
  • Visible nasolabial folds and/or marionette lines
  • Desire to avoid surgery and general anesthesia
  • Prefer nonsurgical treatment options

During your consultation and facial assessment, Dr. Shridharani will determine whether you are a candidate for InstaLift™.

Does the Instalift™ Procedure Hurt?

InstaLift™ with Dr. Shridharani is typically a comfortable procedure, with most patients reporting minimal to no discomfort. At LUXURGERY, InstaLift™ treatment begins with an initial numbing process, which involves the injection of a local anesthetic to the treatment areas. The local anesthetic acts to minimize any discomfort and ensures that the placement of the sutures is painless. The injection is comparable to a bee sting.

Do I Need Anesthesia?

No! InstaLift™ is an outpatient procedure that does not require anesthesia. The sutures contain lidocaine so that the patient feels minimal to no discomfort during the procedure.

Is Instalift™ a Surgery?

While it may give several benefits of surgery, InstaLift™ is an outpatient procedure that does not require anesthesia or any cutting. There is NO scar with InstaLift™. At LUXURGERY, the procedure only takes about 30-45 minutes and patients are able to resume their normal activities shortly after treatment.

Is There a Scar?

No! As mentioned above, the InstaLift™ procedure does not involve any scalpels, incisions, or wounds. During your treatment, Dr. Shridharani will use a small needle to create entrance points in the skin for inserting the InstaLift™ sutures. These small entrance points heal within 1-2 days and will not leave a scar.

What’s the Difference Between a Facelift and Instalift™?

While both procedures offer fantastic results for lifting sagging skin, a facelift is a surgery that requires anesthesia and has downtime. At LUXURGERY, a facelift is performed in our on-site operating room with Dr. Shridharani and takes a few hours to complete. After facelift surgery, there may be bruising and swelling, with recovery time typically lasting 2 to 4 weeks. A facelift is a definitive procedure with several years of longevity. Some patients may want an InstaLift™, but are better suited to have a facelift and neck lift.

InstaLift™ offers a nonsurgical alternative to a facelift, providing similar results with no surgery, no anesthesia, and minimal downtime. Following InstaLift™ treatment, there may be some swelling and soreness but patients are able to walk out of LUXURGERY with little downtime. After the InstaLift™ procedure at LUXURGERY, we offer patients supplemental measures (such as Ocumend) to further improve healing time and minimize swelling.

What Is the Downtime for Instalift™ When Performed by Dr. Shridharani?

Patients may experience soreness for 1-2 days but there is generally very little downtime associated with the InstaLift™ procedure. Patients may resume normal activity within 24 hours of the procedure and should avoid strenuous chewing for about a week. The particular downtime of each patient will depend on their aesthetic goals and unique anatomy. At LUXURGERY, we provide our patients with specific InstaLift™ post-treatment recommendations to ensure the best possible outcome. We find most patients to be socially presentable with a possible bruise only remaining by 3 days after the procedure.

Are There Side Effects to Instalift™?

As with any cosmetic procedure, there are potential side effects to InstaLift™. Soreness, bruising, and swelling may occur in the treated areas and should dissipate within 3 to 7 days. Immediately following the procedure you may feel an uncomfortable tightness to the skin due to the lifting effect of the sutures. This tightness typically resolves within 2 weeks. After placement, there may be initial skin irregularity or slight depressions that appear near the entry points. These symptoms should resolve within a few days. Other potential side effects include asymmetry and sensory nerve injury. While InstaLift™ is a very safe procedure, it is imperative to see a board-certified plastic surgeon to minimize potential side effects. With proper technique and patient selection, the risk of side effects is significantly reduced.

What Is the Price for Instalift™?

Every procedure is tailored to the patient’s specific needs and anatomy. At LUXURGERY, Dr. Shridharani will give patients a full facial assessment to determine the best course of action based on their unique anatomy and aesthetic goals. Following your consultation and facial assessment, a price can be determined.

How Long Do the Results Last?

Following InstaLift™, patients can expect to see continued improvement in skin sagging and laxity over the next 6 months as the sutures cause gradual collagen regeneration. The results provided by InstaLift™ typically lasts for 1.5 to 2 years. Some patients at LUXURGERY choose to undergo an InstaLift™ treatment every year to maintain the results.

Can I Still Have Fillers and Botox® After Instalift™?

Yes! InstaLift™ can be used in conjunction with other minimally invasive treatments to address multiple aesthetic concerns. Together, BOTOX®, dermal filler, and InstaLift™ can diminish the signs of aging by improving the appearance of wrinkles, restore volume, and lift the skin. Patients should wait 1 week after receiving BOTOX®, or filler injection to have an InstaLift™ treatment. Additionally, after undergoing the InstaLift™ procedure, patients should wait at least 2 weeks to have any additional facial procedures, including BOTOX® and/or filler injection. This allows for the skin to properly heal and for any bruising and swelling to resolve.
