What is the procedure like?

The procedure usually takes about an hour and most patients can return home the same day. Some patients stay in nearby luxury hotels where they are monitored by nurses overnight. When you meet with the doctor for a consultation, you can discuss your preferences.
The procedure itself varies from patient to patient since each person is unique. In some patients, the incision will be made underneath the breast while in other patients the incision will be made near the nipple or in other areas. Each option has distinct advantages and disadvantages and the surgeon can help you determine which is best.
After the incision is made, the implant will be placed. Once again, the placement will vary depending on the patient. In some cases, placing the implant on top of the pectoral muscle will yield the best results. In other cases, it is better to place the implant below the muscle. Implants are usually made of silicone or a saline solution. In some situations the patient’s fat can be used in the breast augmentation procedure.
