Are You Ready for Instant Rejuvenation? Consider the Silhouette InstaLift!

A few lines and wrinkles may not seem so bothersome. When people tend to show up in our office looking more significantly concerned is when they notice that the shape of their face isn’t what it used to be. They used to have cheekbones! They used to have a sharp, non-sagging jawline and no double-chin and turkey neck. Now, they see drooping and deflation every time they look in the mirror. And they want to know what they can do to quickly turn things around. The Silhouette InstaLiftTM may be perfect in such situations. Here, we discuss what this non-surgical lift has to offer.

The Silhouette InstaLift is an FDA-cleared office procedure that involves the precise placement of dissolvable filaments in the deeper layers of the skin. The procedure takes an hour or less depending on the size and number of facial regions treated. During the procedure, Dr. Shridharani places various lengths of coned sutures to instantly lift and secure the skin. The threads, made of Polyglycolide/L-lactide (PLGA), also stimulate robust collagen production, which ultimately helps to support natural tissue remodeling over time.

Aside from wanting a non-surgical option for facial rejuvenation, patients may find InstaLift appealing for what it can do. The cosmetic benefits of this brief procedure include:

  • An improved jawline contour
  • Reduction of the nasolabial folds that form between the mouth and nose
  • Reduction of the marionette lines that form between the corners of the mouth and chin
  • A more lifted than “filled” appearance in the jawline and mid-face (the InstaLift can be followed up with dermal fillers for more dramatic contouring)
  • A rejuvenated upper neck
  • Non-surgical correction of a descending brow line

The InstaLift procedure is straightforward in its process. After reviewing the concerns and number and placement of threads, the doctor may draw out the thread placement with a surgical pen. The entry and exit points for the threads are then treated with local anesthetic to numb the areas. There is minimal discomfort, if any, as the threads are inserted. After insertion, the doctor smoothes and adjusts the threads to make sure they are well-secured into surrounding tissue. At the completion of treatment, the markings made on the skin are cleaned.

Patients who get a Silhouette InstaLift may develop some redness, bruising, or swelling. The treatment areas may be slightly sore or tender. Side effects generally resolve within a week, allowing patients to quickly return to their normal activities.

Sometimes, lifting is better than filling or an excellent companion to dermal fillers. To learn more about the Silhouette InstaLift, contact our NYC office at (212) 508-0000.
