Patients of New York City cosmetic surgeon Dr. Sachin Shridharani don’t have to wait weeks to see a fresher face; they can get quick results with minimally invasive injectable procedures. To get the satisfaction you want from aesthetic treatment, know what to expect.
Injectables Aren’t Always What You Think
Injectables have become a leading way to mitigate the consequences of age. We continually meet with new patients who are just getting started with such treatment, and they often have a misguided perception that injectables mean instant results. This is only sometimes the case.
Dermal Fillers
If you cannot live another day with your current appearance, consider dermal fillers to smooth lines, plump the lips, or round the cheeks. Fillers are also used to subtly reshape the nose and give a more sculpted appearance to the jaw line, when possible. Natural fillers achieve the intended goal with hyaluronic acid. The mechanism of a hyaluronic acid filler is to draw in water, then to attach to those molecules, so they remain on the skin for months. The mechanism of a synthetic filler such as Sculptra is to add structure to microscopic particles. Those particles also excite fibroblasts, prompting ongoing collagen production.
Neurotoxins
The most well-known neurotoxin is Botox. We also offer Xeomin and Dysport for expedited wrinkle-reduction. This method of facial rejuvenation is quick, yes, but not instant. There is a process that must take place between the nerve endings of muscles in the treatment area and the transmission center of the brain. This occurs over several days, progressively leading to the smoother skin around the eyes, brow, and forehead.
Aging occurs, in the same way, today as it always had. However, the way we manage aging has changed in surprising ways. Rediscover your youthful look at Luxurgery in NYC.
